James Chen Was Listed on the A-List: The Visionaries (PRC Law) 2023” by China Business Law Journal

2023-12-12

On December 12, 2023, China Business Law Journal, a reputable legal media released The A-List: The Visionaries (PRC Law) 2023 of China’s Top 100 Lawyers. James Chen, the Director of Zhuoxin was honorably on the List with his superb professionalism and prominent reputation in the profession.

The editorial team of China Business Law Journal created The A-List awards after invitations were extended to in-house counsels and executives of Chinese and global enterprises involved in China-related business, partners at Chinese and international law firms, and legal experts from various industries, combined with commentaries of the profession, independent research results and analysis of Chinese legal market (including major transactions and other groundbreaking achievements in the past 12 months). Selected in such an objective and fair manner as above, winners of The A-List awards are elite lawyers most recommended on the market.

In response to a wide range of market feedback, The A-List categories of this year have been extended for the first time by establishing “The Visionaries” awards, which are granted to senior attorneys holding key management positions in their firms and prominent public positions outside of their firms, who are lawyers – excellent ones at that – and much more. As founders, managing partners or leading partners of certain practice areas, they shoulder missions beyond the common legal realm to plot a course for their law firms’ future growth, enabling them to stand out amid increasingly fierce competition in the market. Outside law firms, they take up key positions at lawyers’ associations, trade associations, arbitration institutions and universities, among other platforms.

Being the Senior Partner and Director of Zhuoxin Law Firm, James Chen was awarded the title of Level-One Attorney. He focuses his practices on foreign-related litigation and arbitration, cross-border Insolvency and restructuring, foreign direct investment and overseas investment. Having endeavored in the legal profession for 28 years, James Chen has been selected as among the National Top 1000 Foreign-Related Lawyers by the Ministry of Justice, the National Elite of Foreign-Related Lawyers and the “Belt and Road” Cross-Border Lawyers by the All China Lawyers Association, as well as the Elite of Foreign-Related Lawyers by the Guangdong Lawyers Association, the Top 10 Great Foreign-Related Lawyers of Guangzhou by the Guangzhou Lawyers Association and the Top 10 Young and Middle-aged Legal Experts in Guangzhou by the Guangzhou Law Society. In addition, Chen practices as an arbitrator and a mediator in many arbitration commissions and mediation agencies, including the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, the Zhuhai Court of International Arbitration, and the Arbitration Commissions in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi’an, Wuhan, Xiamen, Ningbo, Changzhou, Zhaoqing, Huizhou and Maoming respectively, as well as the Singapore International Mediation Centre and the Guangzhou International Commercial Mediation Center, etc. In addition to his fruitful practice achievements, Chen has been actively involved in various social activities, serving as vice president of the Guangzhou Lawyers Association, vice president of the Guangzhou New Social Stratum Association, deputy director of the Guangzhou Digital Finance Association and an off-campus tutor at Sun Yat-sen University, etc.
